Writing coaching

The writing process can be difficult for a variety of reasons. It is normal to lose motivation during the often solitary outlining and drafting stages, struggle to remain focused and engaged with a project, want to find new ways to incorporate writing time into a busy schedule, or simply need a person with whom to talk through ideas and writing questions. For anyone in need of extra support in any of these areas, writing coaching may be a helpful option.

Writing coaching appointments are sixty-minute sessions—typically weekly or biweekly—in which I help clients to work toward their writing goals. These goals may include creating a writing routine, developing a thesis, outlining a draft, thinking through organizational decisions, revising for clarity, or any other challenging aspects of the writing process. In my role as a writing coach, my goal is to offer useful guidance based on my years of expertise as a teacher and editor. Equally important, I always aim to demonstrate support and respect for my clients and to express my genuine interest in the work that they are doing. For me, these one-on-one sessions are a rewarding opportunity to collaborate with passionate and thoughtful folks and empower them to achieve their goals.
